Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (524715.BY) has received U.S. Food & Drug Administration approval to make and sell generic versions of anticonvulsant topiramate tablets.

These topiramate tablets are a generic equivalent of Ortho-McNeil Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s Topamax tablets and are available in strengths of 25 milligram, 50 mg, 100 mg and 200 mg, the Indian pharmaceutical company said in a statement Saturday.

These strengths of Topamax tablets have annual sales of about $2.5 billion in the U.S., the company said.
