On the last day of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association Convention held at the Sri Ramachandra University he said China already has a good policy in place for achieving the goals. “We can’t be disheartened that we are still far behind. We have had a great history of scientific research. Our civilizations and universities were far ahead of the rest. With our man power and advantages of English language we must be able to do that,” he said.
Pharma industry, he said, already contributes 12% of the GDP, he said. Earlier, Henry Manasse, executive vice-president of American Society of Health System pharmacists, USA said in the past few years Indian drugs are being increasingly available in the US hospitals and drug stores.
In the last three days, delegates from across the country had gathered to discuss the challenges and growth potential of the pharma industry.
