Generex gets CDSCO’s approval for non-injectable insulin PDF Print E-mail

US-based Generex Biotechnology Corporation has received approval from the Central Drugs Standards Control Organization (CDSCO) for selling its non-injectable insulin  

Generex Oral-lyn is the first oral insulin to get approval from the Drug Controller General of India for commercial use. Traditional insulins, which have to be injected in the body, Generex Oral-lyn can be taken orally with the help of a device.

Generex has also entered into a product licensing and distribution agreement with Shreya Life Sciences, and both the firms are currently conducting post-approval clinical studies for commercial launch of the product in India by 2008.
