In an attempt to offer a platform for the students to get an insight into the 'real' world of the pharma/healthcare industry, India's premier B-School, Indian Education Society (IES) Management College and Research Centre will hold INSIGHT, its annual corporate event related to pharma and healthcare sector, at Manik Sabhagriha, Bandra Reclamation in Mumbai on February 21, 2009.

The theme for this year's event is "changing face of Indian healthcare industry." Leading persons from pharma and healthcare sectors are expected to attend the event.

INSIGHT, launched in 2002-03, provides an opportunity for industry delegates to update themselves on the latest trends in the pharma/healthcare industry. The event would feature presentations by industry leaders, panel discussion and an interactive session.

"For the past six years, INSIGHT has been bringing together senior professionals from the pharma industry and discussing various trends and observations related to the sector. With the healthcare industry maturing in India and undergoing massive transformations in the last few years, we chose "Changing Face of Indian Healthcare Industry" as the theme for this year," says Dinesh D Harsolekar, director, IES.

Recent studies indicate healthcare as one of the India's largest sectors in terms of revenue and employment, and the sector is expanding rapidly. Today the total value of the sector is more than $34 billion. This translates to $34 per capita, or roughly 6 per cent of gross domestic product. By 2012, India's healthcare sector is projected to grow to nearly $40 billion.

Indian Education Society (IES) runs 62 institutions and imparts quality education to over 61,000 students.
