Satyam Computer Services has opened a life sciences center of excellence in Hyderabad to provide software solutions to drug and pharmaceutical firms.

Satyam is also based in Hyderabad, a city north of Bangalore known for its IT companies. Satyam said the center would help pharmaceutical firms recover their development costs faster and reduce the time they take to develop and market a product. 30 professionals will staff the center and will display Satyam's expertise in the drug research arena.
