Small scale manufacturers of non-exempt states is coming together to form a new association called SME Pharma Industries Confederation (SPIC)

According to a  industry magazine , the SSI associations of Maharashtra, Goa, Surendra Nagar, Aurangabad, Punjab, Haryana, etc are expected to join hands with  SME Pharma Industries Confederation  (SPIC) to protect the interests of thousands of small scale pharmaceutical manufacturers in the country.

The small scale pharma manufacturers  feel that the present SSI leaders did not do anything meaningful for the benefit of thousands of SSI units in the country who are trying to survive due to the several anti-SSI policies of the government during the last some years. Major factors that have adversely affected the pharma SSIs are introduction of revised Schedule M, MRP-based excise and tax holiday to Uttaranchal, Himachal, J&K and Sikkim.
