Bilcare, a pharma-packaging-to-clinical supplies manufacturing company, is positioning itself as a global provider of clinical research management services and expanding the footprint for the Cardiff facility to all of Europe.
Bilcare’s principal activity is to provide state-of-the-art and comprehensive packaging solutions to the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare sector. The Group provides its products and services to the Pharma sector through five focused business activities, namely Clinical Services, Research Services, Design Lab, Research Academy and Packaging Materials. The company has acquired a clinical supplier, DHP to expand in the Welsh educational town of Cardiff.
According to Mr. Mohan Bhandari, chairman and managing director, the company will invest about Rs. 125 crore (£12.6 million) in a brand new clinical research space near Cardiff’s national park. The Welsh regional development authority is keen that the Cardiff region develop knowledge-based industry and the Welsh minister is coming on November 29, to sign off the agreement.
It is also expanding its product offering from clinical supplies to offering formulation development, laboratory services, inter-active voice response systems services for clinical supplies. Initially, this will be for UK, western Europe, Poland and the Czech Republic.
For the over Rs 320-crore advanced pharma packaging solutions company, the aim is to be integrated as a one stop service for global pharma and bio tech companies in the clinical services area. This will mean that Bilcare will produce clinical batches of the drug, deploy it perhaps in collaboration with contract research organisations and then analyse the findings and give this to its client, the pharma company.
